Killian Cardinale stops by to talk about his new venture - working with wrestlers as a mentor focused on some of the mental aspects of our sport.
Cardinale wrestled DI level for Old Dominion and West Virginia. He won a pair of Virginia state titles and earned All-American honors in Fargo, Super 32, and the Beast during his high school career. While at West Virginia, Cardinale got on the NCAA podium twice, in 2021 and 2023.
In our conversation, Cardinale talks about his first All-American run that included a match with Spencer Lee and an unexpected compliment from a legend. He also goes through his second trip to the podium, one that happened despite a litany of injuries.
Along the way, Cardinale gives examples of his mental preparation, mindset, and attitude towards training and the sport in general.
There’s lot of good information for aspiring wrestlers along with parents and coaches.
