The Upcoming Schedule for VaWrestle
Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on what to expect for the next week and a half on this site. I’m still recovering from the trip to Las Vegas and haven’t been able to post any new content. I don’t want too much time to go by without anything new posted.
I did grab an interview with Carter Shin after he secured a spot on the U17 World Team in Greco-Roman, so give that a listen. Also in Vegas, I got to see some of Virginia’s best matside for some big wins. It’s great to see Virginia kids competing well against the best in the nation.
With the state freestyle/Greco-Roman tournament this weekend, I’m sure I’ll have a post or two recapping the action. Unfortunately, my son has soccer games both days this weekend, so I won’t be able to head to Lynchburg.
Also on the docket is an All-Virginia Team for 2024-25. It’s a little later than I’d like, but it is what it is. Getting to see some freestyle matchups might influence some picks, as well.
The same goes for “Class of” rankings. I’ll have them for each of the four current high school graduating classes. The Class of 2025 and 2026 are about done. I think I’ll do a top 50 for the seniors and a top 75 for the juniors. We’ll see how deep I can go for freshmen/sophomores.
Also, Willie at MatScouts should have his new high school rankings done today or tomorrow. These are his first rankings without the Class of 2025, so there should be plenty of new faces. I’ll have a post this week about the Virginia natives in those rankings.
That is what I hope to post for the next week and a half.
Once again, I thank everyone for the support and the attention. Please tell a friend, so this site can continue to grow. The wrestlers, the coaches, and you fans deserve it.
