This morning, Willie Saylor of MatScouts released his final Big Board for the high school Class of 2025. Willie is the best high school ranker and talent evaluator in the game, so his rankings are typically the most researched and tediously generated. They are also the most “official” in terms of their usage by media outlets and schools, alike.
With Willie’s final Big Board getting posted this morning, we have to check in on how the Virginia wrestlers fared in these rankings. For years, I’ve touted the Class of 2025 as being one of the best in recent memory for Virginia.
This year’s senior class featured five wrestlers from Virginia within the top 100 prospects. For perspective, the last three recruiting classes only had one Virginia native in the top 100. 2020 and 2021 had none.
